I think it will be important for me to keep track how many articles I am writing and also how many views and clicks I am getting from these articles. In the long run I will be able to see which articles work better than the other. So here is a snapshot from my articles at Ezine Articles:

I know I have not been giving affiliate marketing the amount of time that I have planned to, that's why I have only 32 live articles. I know I need to make a little effort if I want to reach my $50k goal by next year.

I planned to write 5 articles per day but was unfortunately not able to do so. So far there has been days where I wrote a maximum of 4 articles and most week days I was not writing any articles at all... because I was too tired after a day at office.

Working on one campaign at a time

I remember the first time I heard about affiliate marketing. I was all excited about learning how so many people are making money online by selling other people's products. I jumped blindly in the bandwagon only to find myself falling out of it almost instantly...

I was really confused, why everyone else is getting so much success and not me? Well the answer I found it a bit late but as they say better late than never. Well, I was trying to work on too many things at a time. We all know what happens when we try to focus on a thousand things, none of them will work and almost nothing positive will come out of it.

This year when I decided to look back into affiliate marketing; I have taken some time to choose a "niche" then in that niche I chose one unique product that I will sell. I have spent a full month setting up everything for only ONE product (that is, a landing page, a blog, articles and so on) and even now I am continuing to work on that same product even if I have started to work on one more product. The thing is the work never stops. You should be constantly working on a campaign but concentrate on only one at a time if you seriously want to make money with affiliate marketing.

The first times I was trying to set up things, I always had tons of ideas... I wanted to try this, a moment later I was trying something else. At the end of the day I had done nothing constructive. But now, when I am working on a campaign, I work on only one thing at a time. Or at least I can say I manage my time better.

So, my little advice to you will be to focus on one thing at a time. Trying to handle a lot a once will only get you confused and give up as it won't get any good result.

The first clickbank cheque

So, finally after a month of trying and a few sales I received my first clickbank cheque of $149*. I am really happy that I have reached that amount in such little time. I was not expecting to see any results for the coming 6 months... this was the minimum time investment that I was ready to put into affiliate marketing before I start seeing results. It all happened earlier than expected. Now I just need to reset my short term goals so that I can achieve the $50k in a year from here.

I think keeping a journal is a good thing; it will keep me motivated along the way. I have also decided to make a copy of every cheque I will receive from clickbank and I will stick it on my wall just next to my desk. This will also help me to stay focus on my goal and motivate me anytime I feel I am not earning enough online (so that I can see how much I earned in the beginning without knowing much, means I can earn more now if I put in some effort).

I guess the key to succeeding in making money online is to know where to start from. For my own experience, I have heard about clickbank many times in the past, seen all the revenue proofs, all the money that I was promised to earn too... but never seen a bit of it. But this year when I decided to look into clickbank again, I checked around what other affiliates have been doing and copying what they have been doing. Testing what works and what not. Also I think we all have access to too much information online and it is not really easy to decide what we can try and we also have the feeling of security; what if I try this and it does not work? I bet you have asked yourself this question thousand of times... I did, but finally took the plunge and I am glad I did :)

The first target and first sale

If you have already tried to make money online, you probably already know that it is definitely not as easy as some people claim it is. In fact the hardest part is to actually know what can make you money online and put it in action. I have been reading for years without really knowing what works and what not. I am to be blamed too because most of what I have read I have not put it in action...

So, last month I decided to get a little bit more serious about making money online. I guess all that I have read around and how much people are making can not all be lying. I have chosen to go with clickbank. If you are one of the many people who tried to make money online you might have already heard about clickbank, if not then you can sign up today and start promoting products or sell your own to make money online.

I did not know what to do from there... So I still had to read around in forums or other successful affiliates how they were making money online with clickbank. Guess what? After only a month of setting up everything I have made my first sale. I was so happy on that day. It was the 28th of August 08



To be able to reach that I had set a first goal, that was to create my landing page and I have used the bum marketing technique to make money with clickbank. It was not easy but I was determined to make money online so I kept trying. And BAM it happened... the first sale.

Since then I kept making sales, not a lot but I wanted to make a sale a week. This was basically my second goal that I have reached too. There were weeks that I had made 2 sales but the minimum is reached. I am still on this average, I have not been able to make more than that yet. So I have reset my goal, now I plan to make 1 sale per day. I know it will not be easy but I have challenged myself. It is no time to play lazy. ;)

About me and this blog

I am Amy. I have decided to start this blog not to show anyone how to make money online but just as a journal for myself where I will write about my monthly earning and also what I have been doing to earn online.

Again I am going to say that in no way this blog is going to help you make money online, it will just be my journey and all the ups and downs that goes along.

I am probably just like the average people who would like to find some ways to make a few cents online. I have been trying since early 2006 but without much success. The most I have been able to earn online is $2k in an online contest that I have participated and ended up second. Since then I have been trying everything in my power without really making more than $100 monthly.

So, I have decided to set goals for myself. I guess this way I will be more motivated to work harder and reach my goals. 50K might sound a lot or even nothing to some but it is my first goal of online earning for this coming year.

I plan to earn most part from affiliate marketing. I have started recently in this field and has received my first clickbank cheque a few days ago. Not a huge amount ($149) but enough to keep me motivated and work harder to reach my 50k Challenge.

I will post my earnings everytime I receive a cheque or money is deposited in my bank account. I will not post about money that is not yet "in my hands" if you understand what I mean.

Since I will be posting some information that might be helpful to others to start making money online, I would love to get feedback from readers from time to time. :)
